Super Moon 2013...

Astronomical photography really isn't my thing, but I still enjoy taking moon pictures every once in a while.  It's pretty easy to do, and even a 200mm focal length will get you a good web-size image that shows the moon's detail.  This was taken during the "super moon" phase, which is supposed to be the closest this wonderful satellite will be to the earth this year.  I suppose that helps a little!  If you have access to a 600mm lens (and you can use a 2x extender with it, to give you a 1200mm focal length), then you can get a nice big image, worthy of printing.

You can view plenty of non-moon photos on my website at www.janikphoto.com.
